Then, it was re-named to Jayakarta (1527 to 1619). After that, the city was renamed became Batavia (1619 to 1942) because it was controlled by the Dutch. The current name is Djakarta which means victorious deed. Whereas The Big Durian is the nickname of Jakarta. It is given due to all of the Jakarta fruit stall always sell Durian.
